SwiftView provides fast, cost-effective solution for batch-printing PDF files
CUSTOMER PROFILE
Pro Technology Automation, based in Simi Valley, California, is a leading provider of document generation, delivery and archiving technology. For nearly a decade, Pro Technology has specialized in providing integrated solutions, including print and electronic documents and web output solutions, for Adobe server products. Their customers include municipalities, educational institutions, utilities, insurance companies, banks, and enterprises in other vertical markets. Pro Technology is a National Adobe Solutions Partner.
BUSINESS SITUATION
Pro Technology has been working with eLynx/SwiftView since 2000, first as a value-added reseller and then as an original equipment manufacturer, integrating SwiftView Tools technology into their document solutions. In 2006, Pro Technology integrated SwiftConvert technology which enabled the high-speed batch file format conversions required in their document output and delivery solutions. The integrated solution has been well received by their customers, with 35 customers purchasing the solution in the last half of 2007.
Recently, a Pro Technology customer needed the ability to batch print PDF files and Pro Technology turned to eLynx.
SOLUTION
Pro Technology integrated eLynx’s SwiftPublish technology. SwiftPublish technology was completely embedded in the integrated Pro Technology solution and was called from within the Pro Technology application. There is no direct interaction required between the user and SwiftPublish. According to Dan Roth, Pro Technology president and chief technology officer, “We were able to integrate SwiftPublish into our solution in a single day, and the final solution was simple, fast, and elegant.”
RESULTS
Pro Technology’s customer now has the capability to batch print PDF files without first having to open the PDF files in a standalone application. It is handled entirely by the Pro Technology solution unattended. According to Roth, “The customer benefits are significant—they estimate that the ability to batch print PDF files saves them several minutes for every PDF file that has to be printed. And with 200 to 500 PDF files to be printed every day, it represents a tremendous savings to the customer.” By integrating SwiftPublish into their solution, Pro Technology was able to quickly provide the customer with a very cost-effective solution compared to other options the customer had explored.
